INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
WHAT IS INDIVIDUAL THERAPY?
Individual therapy is a process where you work with a licensed therapist in safe, caring and confidential environment to explore your feelings, beliefs and behaviors. People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons, from coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma, to dealing with depression or anxiety, to simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge. A client and therapist may work together for as few as five or six sessions or as long as several years, depending on the client’s unique needs and personal goals for therapy.
Individual therapy can:
Help you work through challenging or influential memories
Identify aspects of your life that you would like to change
Better understand yourself and others
Set personal goals and work towards desired change
Provides a corrective emotional experience necessary for healing
Promote cognitive development
Provide insight about and resolution of inner conflicts or dysfunctional thinking
Heal from trauma, loss, and/or grief experiences
